As promised I have come up with the new episode of comparing of two films or two situations / characters or just scenes of two films.

Let me start with the two films which have released on the same day. `Delhi Belly’ and `Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap’. No, here in these films – there is a very strange connection. Nothing to do with story or even anything visual on the screen.
Here the name of two important people in these two films. While `Delhi Belly’ has this actress called `Poorna Jagannathan’ playing a journalist , who helps Imraan Khan and his team in their effort to over come so many obstacles.

`Bbudhha Hoga Tera Baap’ has Puri Jagannath holding the directors baton, and coming out with out-and-out action flick, justifying Amitabh Bachchan’s image. So two great movies with the similar sounding personalities. Actor Poorna Jagannath and Director Puri Jagannath.

Now about `Delhi Belly’ – has a different feel to it. A youth centric movie ( ? should we call it / if not a cult ? ) , there was another movie – `Shaitaan’ which vied for our attention with the equal emphasis on the actions and re-actions, pains, trials and tribulation of the youth.

There was one common scene of situation in the films – almost towards end – was the boys or the characters wearing `burqa’ or `veil’. While the characters in `Delhi Belly’ running in the crowded streets of Delhi, in `Shaitaan’, characters are shown to be hiding in a crowded area of Mumbai. But the similarity ends there.

If we go a little back there was this very sweet and simple movie called ` Tanu Weds Manu’. The leading man of the movie, R Madhavan shown to be coming out of Delhi Airport (in the introduction scene of the hero)

If we go a further back – R Madhavan was shown to be coming out / or jumping out of Delhi Airport. And the movie, one of my favourites, 3 Idiots. Just see how the same actor get to do the scenes. Though in `3Idiots’, his opening scene is inside the aircraft. But after feigning heart-attack he is shown to wheeled on the lobby and he jumps from his wheel chair. He runs out on the lobby of Delhi Airport. This scene had a comic element (jumping and running out of the airport) combined with a little suspense.

But in `Tanu Weds Manu’ – he is just shown to be arriving from the US and coming out of the lobby. And received by Deepak Dobriyal. A simple scene depicting the arrival of the character.

Many more to come…Keep watching this space.
